Personality: Overall Baraz is a calm, sweet man, generally in a meditative state while working. He doesn't let inconveniences get to him, and has a good head on his shoulders when it comes to problem solving. He likes to be friendly and helpful to other farmers and people in general, and doesn't mind offering discounts or freebies when selling his crops. He's most pleased when someone enjoys his produce, or better yet his cooking, though the only things he usually makes are variations on gratin and fried onigiri. Children tend to see him as a doting big brother, and the elderly as a helpful young man. When it comes to people his own age, Baraz is a bit more distant, trying not to seem too eager to be kind. He's usually smiling though, and doesn't have a cross word to say unless you're the hoodlum who let your fire-type wander through his potato field at night.

History: Baraz was raised by his father, an immigrant to the Ennis Islands who could tell his son only that his mother was beautiful. In his home country his father had been a doctor, but he delved into rice farming on the new land while earning new certifications. As they moved when he was two, Baraz remembered little of his homeland, and was more easily acclimated to the lush, grassy land of the isles. At an early age the boy learned to cook rice and tend to crops, and he was enthralled by how helpful his father's Marshtomp was in the paddies. As a child Baraz was teased a bit for his gentle hobbies, but people started to come around when he catered a local event that became a hit.

Most of the people who knew Baraz thought he'd become a chef, but he was too absorbed in the fields to make that hobby a career. As his father was back in the doctoring business, he was often in charge of the fields until a wildfire spread to the farm and killed off a year's harvest, after which he took up growing mushrooms and wild berries in whatever fertile ground he could find. After 18 years in the islands Baraz moved away from his father's home only a month ago, after breaking off a bad relationship that he wanted to leave behind, and he set out to find something new to cultivate the way his father had. Soon he found himself touring the island of Caprina, and he settled quickly into a farmer's role in an unoccupied set of fields, now having spent three weeks on his new vegetable farm.



Extra Things to Note:
Baraz prefers vanilla to chocolate in most cases, but he likes chocolate cookies.
He won't take money unless he thinks it's been earned, and doesn't accept tips or bonuses for delivering crops.
There is nothing he hates more than undue praise. If you claim credit for something you didn't do, he will hold a grudge.
Baraz isn't much of a meat-eater at all, but he despises fish. The smell, the taste and the presence of tiny bones all put him off.
